Kind of Sick.

Sorry for not posting anything.

I usally get sick at least some times per season.
I skipped Spring and Summer though apparently Fall decided to kick my ass for compensation.

Basically I'm sick so I'll leave it at that... and had little motivation to rant.

So yeah, sorry bout that guys.

You guys ever hear of Yume 2ikki?

If... I had to choose a game to proceed in Yume Nikki's foot steps it would e Yume 2ikki to do it.
Now the reason I say that is cause it mimic's and improves on Yume Nikki... ALLOT.
You get attached to the character allot more and sort of understand her enough to connect with her but not enough to really know whats what, there more interesting and interactive effect, npc's have a bit more character and importantly it keeps that grim feeling of dread hanging about the player constantly.

The best part about this game is that it's being worked one RIGHT NOW.
It's near finish right now but even now in it's beta form it only promises a wonderful succesor/copy cat of Yume Nikki.

Tomorrow I'll give a much more thorough discussion about this game but for now, try to get it on your computer. It takes some tinkering and twisting but if you can get it to work I promise you it'll only lead to fun and horrors.

Tf2'ooin

Truth be told, I love the increase in item's.
It's real nice.
But the shop?

The shop is bullshit in my opinion.
Now don't get me wrong but... well let's face it there's reasonable and then unreasonable and most of the things in the game have gone to unreasonable.

Firstly, all the good stuff costs about 5-3 bucks and that's not counting tax.
Now the MAJOR reason I am upset about this is cause well... it's allot for nothing.
I mean yeah sure with that money you get a SINGLE hat but let's face it, you are paying about 5 bucks for a hat you've been grinding for months on end.
Also the crates are pretty stupid as well, especially since you have to BUY key's for them... I mean seriously come on, why can't we just find keys? I mean I'm not going to buy a key every time I find a crate full of uber-saws.
Also they take away some chance from our actual drops.... which is pretty greedy.

Dead Rising 2 Rant

SO. Dead Rising 2.
I owned the first one and let me tell you, it's like Capcom did little to nothing to fix some of the problems.
NOW, I ADMIT. They did fix the walkie-talkie dilemma and added the option to combine certain things but at the same time they added much more annoying things like the Girl who needed a dose of Zombrex ever 24 hrs, instead of a jam packed 6 days of fun you only get 3 making the game much shorter actually, PEOPLE WHO WANT TO PLAY POKER IN THE MIDDLE OF AN ZOMBIE PANDEMIC, the fact that un-combined weapons do nearly nothing to kill zombies, and the Psycho-paths... THE FREAKING PSYCHO-PATHS.

So let's start complaining right... now:

Okay my first complaint was the Psychopaths. It wasn't the fact that they can whip out unavoidable attack, you couldn't stun them easily with combined weapons, or even the fact that they had bullshit combos and weapons.
MY MAIN PROBLEM WAS HOW FAST MOST OF THEM WERE.
For instance Antonio. Antonio was a fat old chef and SOME HOW he could run like he could part take in the olympics daily, or that one fat guy in the church, he was able to not only carry a chainsaw that's almost as tall as him around but he was able to run at full blast like he was on crack cocaine and had jet engine fuel in his blood... while using the chainsaw with out any hindrance, AT ALL.

Secondly, the time, you get about 4 days to do what you need to but to me? That's not enough time, in DR1 you got a FULL 6 days to run around the mall and go crazy. Now some will argue the time in DR1 and DR2 are about the same but it's not. DR2 just seems to short in time and just when things suddenly pick up it ends... kind of a drag.

Another complaint is checking time. I hate how you have to stop cold too look at your watch I mean why do you have to stop dead cold? Couldn't you at least briskly walk while you take a quick gander at your watch? Or is that just a bit too much to handle?

Speaking of stopping cold I wish they would add a health bar to an item's endurance, I mean it would REALLY help, cause flashing red doesn't really help much... it's like it's telling me this is going to break at some RANDOM point.

As for weapons go, they REALLY push the combo weapons and at one point those are some the only weapons that can do deadly damage to the zombies... or at least knock them down.

But even for it's flaws I found the game quite fun. It needs to be majorly refined before it can become a master piece but who knows? Maybe when DR3 rolls along they'll fix all the problems to it and HOPEFULLY add an endless/sand box mode to it.

Or for the least make a much larger map... like New york sized map.

Now for some funny stuff

Yume Nikki vs. todays Video Games Rant thing

It was last year I played through Yume Nikki.
Though even still I keep looking back at it to see if anythings changed or to rekindle my memories. Though one thing that makes me come back is this, "In the last year no game has gotten me attached to a fictional character like Yume Nikki".

I mean I know I sound like one of those guys who hinge on certain games saying their best but for my defense, I know how the games are flawed and am willing to admit it. As well I am always opened to new games whether they are abstract or generic.

That out of the way, most games now a day just don't get you attached to a character like they do with Yume nikki's Madotsuki. Now for for the defense of the other games the world not only revolves around Madotsuki but is in a sense, "The mind of Madotsuki" and it's kind of hard to match or top that. Though let's face it, there are other ways! For instance "Amnesia: Descent into Darkness" uses minor to long disembodied voices along with vocal and visual flash back's to immerse the player into the characters past and in a sense getting us to care about what the main character has done with his life and how he got to the point he is at.

Then again though, not allot of games do this. This is what dissapoints me.
Though that's not to say I would to see this in EVERY game just ones that do some background info on the main character.

Perhaps I set my standards to high or perhaps I am just blind to the immersion... other wise I think the gaming industry just isn't trying hard enough.
